The ‘Ousar Integrar – Revista de Reinserção Social e Prova‘ (in english: ‘Dare to integrate - Journal of Social Reintegration and Probation’) is a periodical publication (frequency 3 times/year), owned by the General Directorate of Social Reintegration (DGRS), a service of the Ministry of Justice.

The Directorate General of Social Reintegration aims to define and implement policies for crime prevention and rehabilitation of young people and adults, including the promotion and implementation of punishment and measures alternatives to imprisonment and educational measures to young offenders.

The journal ‘Ousar Integrar’ fits into the mission of DGRS, focuses on matters related with the prevention of criminal recidivism and social rehabilitation of young and adult offenders under justice system and aims to be a means of spreading the developments in the area of scientific research on delinquency., understood as a multifactorial phenomenon whose production is associated with factors of individual and social nature.

The journal is for all involved in the area of delinquency and crime in general, especially the operators in the area of justice, seeking to constitute a tool of information/learning for those involved at various stages of court proceedings, contribute to understanding phenomenon of crime and the issues relating with law enforcement and to stimulate critical reflection on professional practices. Valuing the empirical knowledge, pretend to promote the incorporation of different ways of thinking and the use of different strategies in the prevention of crime and intervention with offenders, with the aim of supporting their reintegration in the community and the prevention of criminal recidivism.

The  ‘Ousar Integrar – Revista de Reinserção Social e Prova‘/ ‘Dare to integrate - Journal of Social Reintegration and Probation’ is a scientific journal that aims to promote the interconnection between the worlds of academic and praxis.
